Linux low cost option

Going back again to one of my favorite tech topics is the Linux/OSS world. Yahoo’s tech section has posted two articles that I personally thought supportive of the cause.

I haven’t been at my computer for about two weeks. Im still not at it. I was hoping to have more information up about the new site but the fact of the matter is I have not been able to work on it at all. Hopefully I will be able to get some work done on it within the next week or two so I can give some more info. Expect a new layout for this site too within the next few weeks. Not a lot going on right now though other than that.

New Site!

I have a new website in the making on a domain that I’ve owned for a little while now. I don’t want to put too much up before I have it ready to open. A clue is it has a lot to do with the category that this post falls under. I know I don’t have a lot of time to manage this one let alone two but it will be fun and help me pass the time. I won’t have an update for about a week or more so check back later for more details.

Yahoo News: Linux/Open Source Section!

I was browsing Yahoo News the other night during some downtime when I stumbled across a section that I personally didn’t know existed. I was pleased to find that under the Tech section they had a Linux/Open Source section. I recommend that you check it out.

Been Awhile

I haven’t updated in over a month. To be honest, haven’t really had the time or motivation. Everything is going OK for the most part here. One good thing about Iraq is I can burn all the fuel I want because I don’t have to pay $4.00 a gallon for it. I think we are going to end up getting a more fuel efficient car so Amber can park the Explorer and save us a little bit more money. I won’t have to look for a car when I come home that way either. Coming home is still a long ways away though. Sorry I don’t have any pictures. I will try to get some posted but don’t look forward to it.

Oh Shit Son!

What’s going on everyone? I guess our FOB made the news. Not good shit. I haven’t taken any pictures yet to post. Really isn’t anything to take pictures of yet. I will try to get a good update in the next week or two. Sorry it sucks.

I’m Still in Kuwait… It Still Sucks

I typed this up a few weeks ago but couldn’t upload it.

Well as of right now we are still where we are. Tomorrow I expect the same. It’s still dusty. I stink. The food is alright. We went to the range the other day to confirm the zero on our weapons. Just usual shit I guess. I can now say that I’ve seen Camels in their natural habitat. It really is not that impressive. It seems to me that most of the people around here are transients. There are a lot of people from India who are hired and work on this base. I think the better jobs like transportation and such are held by the Nationals of Kuwait. I would much rather have the people of my country doing those jobs than cleaning shitters and serving food to a bunch of Joe’s. We went and zeroed the Brads too. First time I’ve got to shoot one live. It was pretty cool. I would hate to be anything on the receiving end for sure. I have not been taking a lot of pictures because it is kind of a hassle to carry my camera around here If I don’t have my backpack, and I don’t take my backpack very much. I will try to get better at all of this once we get to Iraq. The problem right now is reliable internet. Hopefully once we move north I will be able to get a decent connection. All I really need is enough to update my site, check my mail, and post on the few forums I am a member of. Sorry this is all jumbled around the way it is. The lack of organization in this place doesn’t help matters much. I will post more when I can. I have to be pretty vague about most of this shit. Expect another post in a week or two. Enjoy the few pictures I have right now.
